Letter: Graduated tax bill is needed
Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000 | 10 a.m.
If a tax proposal is a must, it should favor the nonrich. They are the ones who struggled during the economic boom, which sent the rich gleefully trucking to the bank.
Therefore, I propose a reverse graduated tax bill. How about a 2 percent reduction for those earning more than $100,000; a 5 percent reduction for those earning $50,000 to $100,000; a 10 percent reduction for those earning less than $50,000?
This ought to send Tom Delay, Richard Armey, Trent Lott and the rest of the pro-rich gang screaming bloody murder.
