Daniel Creshion Logan, 48, died of his wounds shortly after being taken to Washoe Medical Center after the incident.
A second man involved, Maurice Meka, 38, was listed in stable condition Wednesday.
Police said they still don't know what prompted an argument between the two that led to the deadly duel Monday night on Lake Street. No arrests have been made and an investigation continued.
Detectives said the men lived within blocks of each other. The fight involved one knife and left a blood trail 250 feet long.
Anyone with information was being asked to contact Reno police at 334-2188 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
