Prep Basketball, soccer tourneys next week

High school holiday tournament action continues next week, with local boys basketball and girls soccer events at two area schools.
Beginning on Tuesday, Las Vegas High will host the Las Vegas Prep Championship, with 32 basketball teams competing for four days. Competing clubs include locals Green Valley, Clark, Basic, Cimarron-Memorial, Durango, Silverado, Western, Mojave, Cheyenne and the host Wildcats. Games will be played at Las Vegas High and Keller Middle School, with the championship slated for Friday at 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, Eldorado's Holiday Soccer Tournament kicks off, with local and out-of-state teams playing in Gold, Silver and junior varsity divisions. Representing Southern Nevada in the varsity brackets will be Silverado, Cheyenne, Green Valley, Cimarron, Chaparral, Centennial, Bishop Gorman, Palo Verde, Vo-Tech, Mojave, Foothill, Rancho and the host Sundevils. The tournament concludes with the Gold title contest Friday at noon.
