Letter: Voting is just waste of time
Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000 | 10:17 a.m.
God help this country when George W. moves into the White House. I will not refer to him as President-elect Bush because I will never accept or respect him as "my" president.
This nation is deeply divided and will remain divided for years to come. The whole election process has been a disaster.
There are five U.S. Supreme Court justices who should hang their heads in shame! I admire Justices John Paul Stevens, David Souter, Stephen Breyer and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who did not waiver from their beliefs and stood firm on their convictions when submitting their decisions.
I have been voting since 1951 and had the belief each vote would always be counted. With thousands of ballots tossed aside and not even counted I am not going to waste my time going to the polls again. I am sure many other citizens feel the same.
