Floridian enters guilty plea
A Florida resident pleaded guilty Wednesday in connection with a fatal car crash.
Robert McCann admitted he was driving under the influence of alcohol and cocaine when his vehicle struck Javier Gonzalez-Mena's car on Oct. 26. Gonzalez-Mena's car spun into the westbound lanes of Flamingo Road and struck a car being driven by Jack Quinn, 59, who died as a result.
McCann will be sentenced to four to 10 years in prison when sentenced by District Judge Mark Gibbons on Feb. 1.
LV man found not guilty
A Clark County jury returned a not guilty verdict in the murder trial of a Las Vegas man accused in a gang-related shooting in May 1998.
Terrell McBride was accused of shooting Steven Bell in the face with a rifle, but defense attorney Peter Christiansen put witnesses on the stand who testified the shooter had a large cyst on the left side of his face.
McBride has no such cyst and the man Christiansen said was the actual shooter did. That man was killed 13 months after Bell's death in a drive-by shooting.
The jury deliberated two hours before reaching its verdict Wednesday.
