LAKE MEAD: Last week's big news came in the form of a pair of chunky largemouth bass that were caught near Fish Island in the Overton Arm. The fish weighed 9 1/2 and 6 1/2 pounds and were caught with jigs.
Boaters who have been fishing in the Boulder Basin have had good success for striped bass with the fish being caught near shore at Government Wash and Las Vegas Wash. Drifting with live shad has also been productive for boaters who are fishing at depths of 80 to 120 feet.
LAKE MOHAVE: There continues to be very light fishing pressure due to cold weather and occasionally strong winds. The few anglers who have taken to the water are finding some success for striped bass along the Arizona side of Cottonwood Basin and just beyond the narrows above Cottonwood Cove.
