Marilyn Joyce Alvarez

Marilyn Joyce Alvarez, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born April 23, 1934, in Ottumwa, Iowa. A resident for 1 1/2 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel; one son, Manny Alvarez of Las Vegas; one daughter, Joyce Leonard of Bloomington, Ind.; and three grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Homer Anderson

Homer Anderson, 63, of Las Vegas died Dec. 7 in a local hospital. He was born April 26, 1937, in Oklahoma. A resident for 14 years, he was a Merchant Marine.

He is survived by one son, Mark Anderson of Moore, Okla.; one daughter, Debbie Edwards of Cordell, Okla.; and one brother, H.W. Anderson of Midwest City, Okla.

Sylvan A. Bain

Sylvan A. Bain, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Chicago. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired repairman for a coffee company and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Carol Petitt of Shady Cove, Ore.; one son, Larry Bain of Palmdale, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Dr. Alvin Griffith Barnes

Dr. Alvin Griffith Barnes, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 17, 1919, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired physician and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn R.; two sons, William Michael Grande of Bogalusa, La., and Jeffrey Dean Hamilton of Las Vegas; one daughter, Christine Mare Grande of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

David George Bywater

David George Bywater, 76, of Boulder City died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 10, 1924, in West Jordan, Utah. A resident for 57 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, a past master of Boulder City Masonic Lodge 37 and Royal Arch Masons, past patron of Desert Chapter No. 22, past commander of Zelzah Yacht Club, past high priest of Hiram Council No. 5, past illustrious grand master Nevada Royal Arch Masons, and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and Southern Nevada Bassmasters.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie; one son, Michael Holbrook of Lewisville, Texas; one brother, Willis Bywater of Boulder City; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Boulder City Masonic Lodge, 901 Arizona St. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson is handling arrangements.

George E. Camp

George E. Camp, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born April 25, 1923, in Muskegon, Mich. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired county government surveyor and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Gregory Camp of Hesperia, Calif., and Jeffery Camp of Las Vegas; two sisters, Marian Haskell of Niles, Mich., and Arlene Toman of Muskegon; two brothers, Wendell Camp of Mesa, Ariz., and William Camp of Grand Rapids, Mich.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Melba V. Chisholm

Melba V. Chisholm, 87, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 4, 1913, in California. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Dana Chisholm of Las Vegas.

William Wesley Daily

William Wesley Daily, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born April 29, 1928, in Minneapolis. A resident for 16 years, he retired from the Minneapolis Star and Tribune after 35 years, he was a Marine Corps veteran, a life member of Disabled American Veterans and was awarded two Purple Hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Sybil; one son, Bruce Daily of Las Vegas; and one brother, Ralph Daily of Outing, Minn.

Kirk G.J. Delgado

Kirk G.J. Delgado, 51, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 22, 1949, in San Fernando, Calif. A resident for 27 years, he was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 12.

He is survived by two sons, Kirk Fries of Vancouver, Wash., and Robert Delgado of Portland, Ore.; three daughters, Tina Delgado of Portland and Natalie Delgado and Rosalie Delgado, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Juhree Perez of Las Vegas and Corliss Muirhead of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Valiant Delgado and Oliver Delgado, both of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services are scheduled 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Anne Donnelly

Anne Donnelly, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 10, 1927, in Los Angeles. A resident for 20 years, she was retired from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

She is survived by two daughters, Shannon Wilms and Joellen Bonse; two sons, John Crile and Paul Whealey; two brothers, Tom Ridley and James Ridley; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Carlos Chaim Garibay

Carlos Chaim Garibay, 49, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 9, 1951, in Mexico. A resident for 10 years, he was a physician and a member of the Nevada State Medical Association, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Mexican Patriotic Committee, Nevada Hispanic Democratic Caucus, Jewish Federation of Las Vegas and the American Medical Association.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; two daughters, Jennifer Garibay and Katie Garibay, and one son, Richard Garibay, all of Henderson; his father, David Garibay, and two brothers, David Garibay and Louis Garibay, all of Chicago; and one grandchild.

Graveside services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Carol Gross

Carol Gross, 52, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1948, in Pittsburgh. A resident for nine years, she was a specialist for a vitamin manufacturer.

She is survived by her parents, Josephine and Robert Lynn of Las Vegas; four sisters, Phyllis Hocker and Cindi Pulaski, both of Cedar City, Utah, and Michele Hutt and Bobbie Russo, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 4 p.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Kheang Heng

Kheang Heng, 33, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. Born Jan. 16, 1967, in Cambodia, he was a server at Paris Las Vegas.

He is survived by one brother, Khim Heng of Las Vegas.

Visitation was scheduled until 6 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services are scheduled noon Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Joseph William Kawick

Joseph William Kawick, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 19, 1914, in Chicago. He was a resident for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife, Annmarie; one daughter, Patricia Young of Las Vegas; one brother, Bill Kawick of Sunrise, Fla.; three sisters, Alga Czarny and Mary Duello, both of Chicago, and Jean Greski of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Michael L. King

Michael L. King, 52, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 25, 1948, in Oceanside, Calif. A resident for 25 years, he was a food warehouseman and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marvetta; three daughters, Larissa Taylor of Mesa, Ariz., Sediena King of Pahrump and Natira Morden of Aurora, Colo.; three sons, Richard King of Las Vegas and Varian King and Jarom King, both of Pahrump; his mother, Dorothy Harris, and one sister, Donna Chadwick, both of Pahrump; and 18 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday with services following at 12:30 p.m. in the LDS chapel, 2245 Lindell St. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Lorraine Link

Lorraine Link, 56, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 19, 1944, in Detroit. A resident for eight years, she was a retired automobile test driver.

She is survived by her husband, John; one son, Marc Zalewski of Oxford, Mich.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Robert Marinoff aka Jack Morgan

Robert Marinoff aka Jack Morgan, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Philadelphia. A resident for 14 years, he was an entertainer who performed all over the world including at the Stardust hotel.

He is survived by his wife, Margie; two daughters, Geraldine Marinoff of Pennsylvania and Jacqueline Marinoff of Las Vegas; and one son, Benjamine Marinoff of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. services Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Sylvia Martin

Sylvia Martin, 70, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born July 5, 1930, in New York. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Scott; one brother, Joseph; and one sister, Eleanor.

David R. McRae Sr.

David R. McRae Sr., 62, of Pahrump died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1938, in Los Angeles. A resident for five years, he was a truck driver for Southern Nevada Paving and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Suzy Davis of Pahrump; three sons, David Jr. of Gretna, Neb., Larry of Las Vegas and Joe of San Ysidro, Calif.; two daughters, Jeri of Las Vegas and Marie of Henderson; one brother, Tom of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Jan. 6 at the Oasis Outreach Center, 4760 S. Pahrump Valley Blvd. Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd., Pahrump, is handling arrangements.

Gerald W. Reimer

Gerald W. Reimer, 65, of Las Vegas died Nov. 28 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 18, 1935, in Sheboygan, Wis. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired banker, a Korean War Navy veteran, a member and 1968-69 district champions of SPEBSQSA (a barber-shop quartet), performing as the Gas Light Harmony Four, a member of Big Brothers San Diego and the Kiwanis Club.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Blake-Reimer; two sons, Hans Reimer of West Hollywood, Calif., and Fritz Reimer of Encino, Calif.; one daughter, Katherine Bennett of Oregon; and three grandchildren.

Thomas Schutte, 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 21, 1947, in Durban, South Africa. A resident for seven years, he was a sign company business owner.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Warren Schutte and Dean Schutte, and one son, Tarynn Schutte, all of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Spyker Stander and Baron Stander, both of South Africa.

Sheldon Schwartz

Sheldon Schwartz, 42, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 29, 1931, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired casino supervisor and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; two stepdaughters, Brandy Dennis and Tiffany Wright, and one stepson, James Wright, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Helen Weinberg

Helen Weinberg, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 18, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Jacqueline Goldberg of Las Vegas, Linda Donoff of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Michelle Nawrozki of Baltimore; one son, Stuart Weinberg of Eldersburg, Md.; two sisters, May Schneider of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Jeanette Kosloff of Florida; one brother, Martin Friedman of Florida; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

John J. Zabiski

John J. Zabiski, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 13, 1913, in Middletown, Conn. A resident for two months, he was a veteran of the Merchant Marines.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Nash of Rocky Hill, Conn., and Eleanor Burger of Las Vegas; one son, John J. Zabiski Jr. of Portland, Conn.; one brother, Harry Zabicki of Portland, Ore.; one sister, Shirley Zabicki of Old Town, Conn.; and 10 grandchildren.
