Metro Police are searching for a 34-year-old man accused of abducting a 17-year-old girl at gunpoint last week and sexually assaulting her.

A warrant is on file charging Maghfoor Ahmad Mansoor with sexual assault with a deadly weapon and first-degree kidnapping with a deadly weapon, police said.

Mansoor is accused of kidnapping the girl on Dec. 11 from the area of the 4000 block of Boulder Highway, driving her to a secluded spot in Henderson and assaulting her, police said.

Mansoor is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has scars on his left forearm and tattoos of Arabic letters on his right forearm. He also uses the names Anit Sign or Anthony Mansoor, police said.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Metro's sexual assault unit at 229-3421 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.

Police identify slaying victim

A 41-year-old man found shot to death in a parking lot in the 1900 block of H Street was identified as Marshall R. Hughes of Las Vegas.

Hughes was found dead in the parking lot about 12:15 p.m. Sunday, but an initial investigation has turned up no witnesses or a motive for the homicide.

Residents in the neighborhood near Washington Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard told detectives that the victim was homeless and frequented the area often. They also reported that they saw the victim standing with several people before the shooting, Metro Police said.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Metro's homicide unit at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
