A Las Vegas excavation company is seeking indemnification from Sprint for damages the company may be held liable for in a lawsuit filed in 1997 by Alexis Park Resort & Spa.
In a Clark County District Court lawsuit, D.W. Pealer Backhoe Inc. said it was sued by Alexis Park Resort and Kerzetski-Bellew & Associates Construction Co. on Nov. 12, 1997, after its backhoe allegedly severed the resort's main telephone line.
Pealer denied responsibility for the accident and alleged Sprint failed to properly identify the location of the telephone lines.
The suit said Alexis Park, in its lawsuit, alleged it was prevented from maximizing its revenues for the holiday season in Las Vegas because its guests and staff could not dial any number outside the hotel or receive outside calls for about 10 hours.
The defendant could not be reached for comment.
