Trial set for Jan. 2 in Treasure Island robberies

The preliminary hearing of a Las Vegas man suspected of robbing Treasure Island three times and shooting a security guard has been scheduled for Jan. 2.
Justice of the Peace Nancy Oesterle scheduled Reginald Johnson's preliminary hearing during a brief court appearance this morning.
Johnson is charged with five counts of robbery and burglary-related charges in connection with three incidents at the Treasure Island over the last five months.
In the latest incident Johnson is accused of going into the resort Dec. 12, shooting a security guard and trying to rob the main cage.
Mauro Torres, the security guard, was released from University Medical Center Sunday evening.
