Joe Delaney remembers 1973: Goulet, Lawrence at the Frontier
Friday, Dec. 15, 2000 | 11:31 a.m.
Robert Goulet and Carol Lawrence (Mrs. Goulet at the time) were a dynamite combination onstage at the Frontier. Note that the Goulets had separate musical directors: Ralph Sharon joined Tony Bennett not soon after this date and has been with him since. Richard Parrinello did not become a Las Vegas regular. After their divorce later that decade, Lawrence worked here sparingly as a single, but was active on Broadway. Goulet has spent most of the last two years touring in "Camelot," playing King Arthur rather than Sir Lancelot. Also note that the midnight show minimum was $7.50, which included three cocktails.
