Letter: Our country is history without campaign reform
Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000 | 9:47 a.m.
What a waste of human emotion and energy. This is what the bribe system produced. All we are fighting over is two pieces of corporate plastic. Stop the count, stop voting, stop pretending. Let the three highest-paying lobbyists decide.
As long as we allow corporate bribes to pick and choose our politicians, we as a people have nothing to do with the whole dirty system!
Without campaign reform, complete true campaign reform, no other issues exist. We may just as well become part of South America.
It is stupid to let these corrupt worldwide money powers drive a bitter wedge between the fine American people.
