Letter: It’s GOP’s turn to be scrutinized
Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000 | 9:48 a.m.
In reference to Robert J. Badovinac's Dec. 7 letter, "Democrats fear loss of power": What planet has this writer been a resident of the last eight years?
Kenneth Starr spent some $64 million on Democratic investigations and the meter is still running. Duh, the purpose to bring down President William Jefferson Clinton for doing a great job.
Remember, Clinton received no honeymoon from the Republican Congress. It started with a failed "Whitewatergate" and ended with some success with "lying about hanky panky." The GOP accused Clinton with some 30 "-gates" and not one real success story among them.
Please, the economy has been great -- the best in decades. The USA had peace during the entire eight years of Clinton's terms.
Turnabout is fair play; the Democrats now get to put George W. Bush under our microscope. We will use special prosecutor Janet Reno. Let's see how George, Barbara, Jeb, Laura and old Dubya fair. I haven't forgotten what the GOP did to President Jimmy Carter and his family.
