Where there’s fire, there’s danger: A few safety tips

With the sales of candles doubling in the last five years, according to the National Candle Association, the fires caused by candles have also substantially increased.
Here are some candle safety tips provided by the NCA:
* Never extinguish a candle with water. Use a special candle snuffer or "quencher" instead. If not available, hold a finger in front of the flame and blow at the finger. The air will flow around the finger and extinguish the candle from both sides, which will prevent hot wax from splattering.
