Triple-A World Series won’t be played in 2001

The Triple-A World Series will not be held next season because of poor attendance.
For the past three seasons, the champions of the International League have played the champions of the Pacific Coast League at Las Vegas' Cashman Field.
The National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues said it will try to find a new format to implement in 2002.
