Letter: A President Bush deserves no respect
Monday, Dec. 11, 2000 | 11:05 a.m.
Election fraud is going on in Florida, and no one is able to stop it. Where are the leaders of our country? We have a man named George W. Bush who has been arrested for DUI, has done inside trading on the stock market (refer to TALK Magazine, November issue), and when he was old enough to know better was hooked on hard drugs.
George lied about the DUI when first asked about it and finally admitted it was true when he was found out sometime later. Any American citizen who commits any of these crimes is arrested. Why hasn't George W.? It is downright scary to think about this man being elected when he feels he can get away with anything even if it is wrong. I fear for my family, especially my grandchildren.
If George is as decent a man as he claims to be he will agree to let the recount continue and then we will all be satisfied to call whoever wins president. By not doing so he will never be accepted by thousands of voters who feel they have been cheated out of their votes. If George W. is elected it will be the first time in all the years my family and I have voted that we will never accept, or give George W. the respect, we have given to all our other presidents as I and all of my family feel that George W. has stolen the election.
