American Nevada executive promoted

John Kilduff, who for 1 1/2 years has directed the day-to-day operations of Las Vegas-area real estate developer American Nevada Corp. as executive vice president, has been named president of the company.
"John has done an outstanding job and deserves the title to go along with his responsibilities," said Phil Peckman, chief operating officer of the Greenspun Corp., the parent company of American Nevada. "And I'm happy to resume my duties at the holding company."
Peckman had been serving as chief operating officer of the Greenspun Corp. and as president of Henderson-based American Nevada, developer of the Green Valley master planned community with major commercial projects still planned and under way there.
The promotion was announced by Brian Greenspun, president of the Greenspun Corp., which also owns the Las Vegas Sun.
Kilduff joined American Nevada in May 1999. Prior to joining American Nevada, he was executive vice president of the Howard Hughes Corp., an affiliate of the Rouse Co., Columbia, Md. He joined the Howard Hughes Corp. in 1993 as chief financial officer and from June 1994 to March 1995 served as interim president of the company's Summerlin Division, developer of the Summerlin master-planned community in Las Vegas.
He also serves on the board of regents of Loyola Marymount University, is a trustee of the Community College of Southern Nevada Foundation, is chairman of the marketing committee of the Nevada Development Authority and is a council member of the Urban Land Institute.
