Lena Marie Aspero
Lena Marie Aspero, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 14, 1918, in Worcester, Mass. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Joseph A. Aspero Jr. of Auburn, Mass.; one daughter, Barbara L. Matthews, and one sister, Ann M. Nigro, both of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in St. Viator Catholic Church, followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Ethel Boyd
Ethel Boyd, 86, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 2, 1914, in Pennsylvania. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Mortensen of Las Vegas.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Pennsylvania. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Bonnie Cabrales
Bonnie Cabrales, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born April 23, 1931, in Toronto, Kan. A resident for 36 years, she was a retired executive assistant for the Department of Energy Navoo Operations.
She is survived by her husband, Stan; three sons, Allen Cabrales, Steven Cabrales and Arthur Cabrales, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Charles McNitt of Huntsville, Ala.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Thelma Cohen
Thelma Cohen, 67, of Las Vegas died Nov. 21 in Las Vegas. She was born April 22, 1933, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 17 years, she was a hotel housekeeper.
She is survived by one daughter, Lois Cohen of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-noon Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Ted Costas
Ted Costas, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 26, 1932, in Rye, N.Y. A resident for five years, he was a retired tobacco salesman and a Korean War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; one daughter, Renee August of Westminster, Calif.; three sons, Ted Costas of Los Angeles, Todd Costas of Burbank, Calif., and Stephen Cerbino of Mahopac, N.Y.; his mother, Anne Costas, and one sister, Marie York, both of Harrison, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Arthur V. Durante Sr.
Arthur V. Durante Sr., 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 1, 1919, in Hazelton, Pa. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a hardware store, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Elks and Kiwanis.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; one daughter, Rosemary Durante of Las Vegas; three sons, Art Durante Jr. of Yucca Valley, Calif., and James Durante and Joseph Durante, both of Salt Lake City; one sister, Antoinette Bigos of New Jersey; one brother, Dominic D'Allesandro of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A vigil service will be 4-6 p.m. Friday in Hazelton, Pa. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Beatriz Eugenia Ells
Beatriz Eugenia Ells, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 5, 1915, in Guatemala. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Valerie Robertson and Patti Anderson, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Conchita Acker of Guatemala; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A cryptside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
Charles Stanford 'Stan' Guidry
Charles Stanford "Stan" Guidry, 43, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. He was born June 27, 1957, in Austin, Texas. A resident for 20 years, he was an artist and poet.
He is survived by his father, Tilden J.; four sisters, Jo Hurff and Dottie Hopkins, both of Albuquerque, N.M., Brenda Hendricks of Akron, Ohio, and Kathy Bloch of Los Alamos, N.M.; three brothers, John Guidry of of Orange, Texas, Dwight Guidry of Little Rock, Ark., and Kevin Guidry of Denver.
Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
Harvey Earl Hunter
Harvey Earl Hunter, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 13, 1914, in Staples, Minn. A resident for 18 years, he was a carpenter for 35 years and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Earl Hunter of Battle Mountain and Forest Hunter of St. Helena, Calif.; one daughter, Teri Hunter of Milaca, Minn.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.
Karl G. Kappel
Karl G. Kappel, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Miami, Okla. A resident for seven years, he was a retired attorney, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathryn A. Kappel of Westlake Village, Calif., and Jan Theel of Denver; one sister, Mary McCarthy of La Crescenta, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Services will be in California. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Sharlene E. Kelly
Sharlene E. Kelly, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 4, 1935, in Watertown, N.Y. A resident for 27 years, she was a retired secretary.
She is survived by one son, Kevin Kelly of Van Nuys, Calif.; her mother, Eva Eveleigh of Bridgewater, Mass.; and one sister, Janice Robson of Maytown, Pa.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Jeannette Lopez
Jeannette Lopez, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 23, 1934, in Albuquerque, N.M. A resident for 49 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two sons, Randy and Jerry, her mother, Helen Garcia, and one sister, Mona Burns, all of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.
Dorothy C. Olds
Dorothy C. Olds, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 26, 1920, in Wisconsin. A resident for five years, she was a commercial bookkeeper/accountant.
She is survived by her husband Robert L.; one son, David Olds of Las Vegas; two daughters, Joy Jones of Las Vegas and Lia Honda of Honolulu; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Carl R. Pierce
Carl R. Pierce, 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born June 12, 1930, in Kenton, Tenn. A resident for one year, he was a retired ironworker and a member of Structural Iron Workers Local 1 in Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; one son, Gary Pierce of Littleton, Colo.; one stepson, Sharif Abdul-Malik of Atlanta; one stepdaughter, Courtney Jalivay of Las Vegas; two brothers, Donald W. Pierce of Union City, Tenn., and Cliff Pierce of Park Ridge, Ill.; four sisters, Virginia Jenkins of Kenton, Jewel McNair of Twin Lakes, Wis., Carolyn Lewis of Memphis, Tenn., and Eula Cannon of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to noon services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
Marshall L. Rayner
Marshall L. Rayner, 70, of Las Vegas, died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 27, 1930, in Tecumseh, Okla. A resident for five years, he was a construction supervisor and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; three daughters, Esther McWherter of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Karen Smith of West Hills, Calif., and Cheryl McDonald of Las Vegas; three sons, Phillip Rayner of Calimesa, Calif., David Rayner of Lake Havasu City and Greg McDonald of Las Vegas; one sister, Lee Ely of Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, Lester Rayner of Denver and Charles Rayner of Napa, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled 11 a.m. Thursday at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Charles Donald Stork
Charles Donald Stork, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born June 20, 1937, in Canton, Ga. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired auto body repairman and a Korean War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Tami Stork of Aurora, Colo.; one sister, Inez Geurin of Las Vegas; and two brothers, James Stork of Las Vegas and Earl Stork Jr. of Atlanta.
A memorial service will be in Denver. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Coleman 'Coley' Welch
Coleman "Coley" Welch, 81, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1919, in Portland, Maine. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired professional boxer. He was the New England middleweight boxing champion for eight years, 1938-1946, ranked third in the world in the middleweight division. He lost to Jake LaMotta for the middleweight championship and was inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame in 1987.
He is survived by two daughters, Colleen Carey of New York City and Carolyn Welch of Henderson; two sons, Hal Welch of Las Vegas and John Welch of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Mary Hubbard of Bradenton, Fla.; one brother, J. Paul Welch of South Portland, Maine; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 5 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
