Annual party will pay tribute to charities
Seniors United's annual Christmas/Hanukkah party will be 1-3:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at the West Flamingo Senior Center, 6225 W. Flamingo Road.
Seniors United will pay tribute to the Catholic and Jewish charities. You may bring a wrapped gift for a child or even an adult. Refreshments will be served.

School will host program on Saturday
The Mountain View Christian School Band will present a holiday gift and craft fair 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at 3900 E. Bonanza Road.
More than 30 vendors are expected to display various crafts and gifts. Also planned are live music from the school's music department, balloons and face-painting for the kids, and a professional photographer on site to take family Christmas pictures.

Children's parade will start at noon
The Children's Christmas Parade and Celebration to welcome Santa Claus to Henderson will begin at noon Saturday.
The parade will start at the corner of Ocean and Water streets and go down Water Street, turning left at Victory Road to Silver Street. For more information, call Gayle Rogers at 565-8951.
Kids to be watched as their parents shop
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host three Great Elf Escapes during the holiday shopping season.
The escapes are intended for children 5-12 to stay at recreation centers while parents take care of last-minute holiday shopping.
Two of the sessions will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 16 at the Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway. The third session will be 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road. Participation is $12 per child per session.

Tree lighting
Speedway Children's Charities invites you to attend the second annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Grant Distribution Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on the front lawn of the administration building at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 Las Vegas Blvd. North. To RSVP, call 632-8231 by Monday.
Teen shopping
A shopping trip for teens called "Shop 'Til You Drop" will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Fashion Outlet in Primm. Participation is $5 per teen (ages 13-17) and includes round-trip transportation for this full-day shopping excursion.
Tree dedication
The STOP DUI Victim Memorial Tree Dedication will begin 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Park at Eastern Avenue and Sunset Road. For more information, call 456-7867.
