Harley E. Allen

Harley E. Allen, 19, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A resident for one year, he was born July 18, 1981, in Kingman, Ariz.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Allen of Kingman; five sisters, Chrissy Allen and Casey Sutton, both of Sandpoint, Idaho, Tanya Goodale of Reno, Veronica Allen of Eureka, Calif., and Noreen Andyrsiak of Kingman; and five brothers, Ed Sutton, Bobby Sutton, Kenny Sutton and Robert Burcham, all of Las Vegas, and Caleb Allen of Kingman.

Mose Allen

Mose Allen, 64, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. A cook at the Showboat hotel, he was born Jan. 13, 1936, in Tallulah, La.

He is survived by his wife, Tommie; one son, Damian Scott; one brother, Joseph Allen of Portland, Ore.; and one sister, Willie Ranch of Tallulah.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Harrison-Ross Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Quince Alvey

Quince Alvey, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 9, 1917, in Escalante, Utah. A resident for 19 years, he was a carpenter, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Carpenters Local 1780 for 55 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; three daughters, Linda Gai Hartwell, Jane A. Leany and Marie Leavitt, and one son, Raymond Alvey, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Meletta Butler of Richfield, Utah, and Cuma Demas of Sandy, Utah; one brother, William Alvey of Williamsport, Md.; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Saturday in the South Stake Center. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Martin L. Bernstein

Martin L. Bernstein, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 19, 1927, Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for seven years, he owned and operated a dry cleaners, was a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Association of Retired Persons, National Rifle Association and NARFE.

He is survived by two sons; and two sisters.

Raymond Burridge

Raymond Burridge, 68, of Las Vegas died Nov. 27 in a local hospital. He was born April 3, 1932, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 43 years, he was a retired Metro Police officer and a member of the Las Vegas Police Protective Association.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joan; one son, Rulon Burridge, and one daughter, Lisa Charbonneau, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Darlene Oliver of Federal Way, Wash.

David H. Butler

David H. Butler, 52, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 27, 1948, in Albuquerque, N.M. A resident for six years, he was a bartender, a Vietnam War Navy veteran who served on submarine duty and was a former Mason.

He is survived by one brother, Don Butler of Clayton, N.M.; and one sister, Diana Foreman of Danville, Ky.

Francis 'Bud' Carroll

Francis "Bud" Carroll, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 1, 1916, in Salem, Mass. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired Air Force chief master sergeant and World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Phillip L. Carroll of Poulsbo, Wash., and Greg F. Carroll of Las Vegas; one brother, Joe Carroll of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Memorial Park.

Gilbert J. Cassagne

Gilbert J. Cassagne, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born March 19, 1927, in Jersey City, N.J. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired police officer and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; two daughters, Terry Dobell of Tucson, Ariz., and Susan Leach of Henderson; one son, Gilbert Cassagne of Melbourne, Australia; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Lawrence Melvin Charnock

Lawrence Melvin Charnock, 52, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 4, 1948, in Wheeling, W.Va. A resident for nine years, he was a business owner.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one daughter, Elizabeth Hershberger, and one son, Christopher Charnock, both of Las Vegas; one brother, George Charnock Jr., and one sister, Kathy Davis, both of Ohio; and one grandson.

Vera M. Giroux

Vera M. Giroux, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born April 9, 1912, in Delancy, Pa. A resident for 26 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn E. Jackson of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Charles Haley

Charles Haley, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 23, 1930, in Ohio. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired firefighter and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Tom and James Haley; one daughter, Ann Machado; and five grandchildren.

Chester E. Huff

Chester E. Huff, 62, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. He was born June 24, 1938, in Pecos, Texas. A resident for more than 29 years, he was a retired engineer for the Nevada Department of Transportation and a veteran of the Army Reserves.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E.; one daughter, Tammy Halvorsen of Angola, N.Y.; one son, Alan J. Huff of North Las Vegas; his mother, Martha M. Huff of Las Vegas; one brother, Walter Huff of Reno; three sisters, Mary Johnson of Oakdale, Calif., Dorothy Ward of El Monte, Calif., and Linda Zastrow of Sparks; and three granddaughters.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Joyce A.W. Hughes, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 24, 1933, in Illinois. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; one son, Steve Hughes of Seattle; one daughter, Jennifer Gillies of Las Vegas; one brother, Jack Westrich of Chicago; and two grandchildren.

Lillian Kagan, 54, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born July 10, 1946, in Germany. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert S.; two sons, Scott R. Kagan and Robert S. Kagan Jr.; two daughters, Joann Lillian Kagan and Kristal K. Dias; her mother, Anna Kapusta; and two grandchildren.

Grace O. Manno, 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 2, 1919, in Chicago. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; one son, Charles Manno, and one brother, Charles Groboski, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Hazel Marie O'Neill

Hazel Marie O'Neill, 89, of Henderson died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 25, 1911, in Chicago. A resident for seven months, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Dennis O'Neill of Las Vegas; one sister, Virginia O'Neill of Wood Dale, Ill.; and one granddaughter.

Opal Partain

Opal Partain, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born July 28, 1920, in Paris, Ark. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker, a hope chaplain and was active in drug and alcohol counseling.

She is survived by one daughter, Pamala Zamora of Las Vegas; one sister, Jewell Barlow of Booneville, Ark.; one brother, John Owens of Douglas, Ariz.; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Calvary Foursquare Church, 2929 Cedar Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Ellen Ratay

Ellen Ratay, 85, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 27, 1915, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 58 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Pat Loring, Kathy Somers and Ginny Cederburg, all of Henderson, and Mary Lu Topper of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 6 p.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Herman Saltzman

Herman Saltzman, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired executive director of United Way of Las Vegas 1972-1985, a World War II Army veteran, a member of B'nai B'rith and a former member of the Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, Jerilyn; two daughters, Babette and Deborah, and two sons, Randall and Richard, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Philip Saltzman of South Bend, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Sanford C. Schiff

Sanford C. Schiff, 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 15, 1927, in Cleveland. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired production manager for Electrofilm and a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Jerry Schiff and Edward Schiff; two brothers, William Schiff and Armond Schiff; one sister, Shirley Shapiro; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Ann Shackleford

Ann Shackleford, 74, of Las Vegas died Nov. 24 in a local hospice. She was born Jan. 31, 1926, in Michigan. A resident for 20 years, she was a sales supervisor in the Navy.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; and one son, Robert K. Shackleford of Las Vegas.

Tamara Lynn Ulibarri, 33, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 7, 1967, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her father, Tomas Ulibarri of Arizona; her mother and stepfather, Sharon and Donald Kerr, one son, Christopher Ulibarri, and two daughters, Sarah Renee Pulcher and Fallon Leann Chances Gourley, all of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Tomas G. Ulibarri of Las Vegas and Manuel Martin Ulibarri of Arizona.

Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
