Letter: May God keep America free

Freedom is a word we in America have heard since birth. Born free, we take our freedom for granted much of the time. But many of the people of this world who were not born free can only dream of that which we have inherited as Americans.

We as a country have much to be thankful for -- freedom of speech, the right to do and say things that in many parts of the world would be against the law.

Freedom to travel without being stopped and asked to show your identification when going from state to state or city to city. The right to vote, and not just one candidate to vote for but many choices. The right to agree or disagree.

These and many other benefits too numerous to list, these are the things that make us the nation all the world would like to be. America, the land we love.

It could only be formed and created with the help of God from heaven above. In God we trust. With help from God, may we remain now and forever free.
