Joe Delaney remembers 1971: Clark, Everly Brothers at the Landmark
Friday, Dec. 1, 2000 | 11:08 a.m.
Roy Clark and the Everly Brothers were part of a "Country Music USA" package series at the Landmark, now a parking lot across from the Las Vegas Convention Center. Clark, the headliner, went on to star on the Strip at both the Desert Inn and the Frontier. The Everly Brothers went on to become a headline attraction on the Strip as well. Both Clark and the Everlys are now working in concert, but separately, at the Orleans. Others in the Landmark country music series who became Strip headliners include the Oak Ridge Boys, Mel Tillis and the late Tammy Wynette.
