Edward Joseph Albini

Edward Joseph Albini, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 21, 1923, in Bridgeport, Conn. A resident for many years, he was a law firm consultant and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Ros.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Westbury, N.Y. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Shirley 'Buck' Alcorn

Shirley "Buck" Alcorn, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 30, 1921, in Carrollton, Ky. A resident for eight years, he was a retired aerospace engineer and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; one daughter, Nancy Riggio, and two sons, Jeffrey Alcorn and Stephen Alcorn, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Marge Melvin of Denver; one brother, Buddy Alcorn of Cincinnati; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 2 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Martin Basichis

Martin Basichis, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1924, in Philadelphia. A resident for one year, he was a retired furniture refinisher and a World War II Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Robin Basichis of Las Vegas and Gordon Basichis of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; one brother, Joseph Bass of Allentown, Pa.; and one grandchild.

Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Lawrence Bourlier

Lawrence Bourlier, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 12, 1917, in Kimball, Neb. A resident for one year, he was a retired carpet business owner, a World War II Army veteran and member of the Elks.

He is survived by one son, Ken Bourlier of Henderson; one daughter, Carolyn Finch of Las Vegas; two sisters, Nellie of Red Bluff, Idaho, and Louellen of Sandpoint, Idaho; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Jean L. Brandt

Jean L. Brandt, 74, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 1, 1926, in Cleveland. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired insurance clerk.

She is survived by two daughters, Randi Emily Slacks of Nevada and Holli Dianne Baker of Texas; two sons, J.J. Slacks of Nevada and Johnny Baker of Texas; and one grandchild.

A memorial service was scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

Joel William Bucher

Joel William Bucher, 54, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 25, 1946, in Dixon, Ill. A resident for several years, he was a warehouse clerk in the floor-covering industry and an Army veteran who received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, J. Sharon; one son, Nicholas W. Bucher of Dexter, Mich.; two daughters, Sonja Bucher and Angela Garcia, both of Henderson; his mother, Clara Shaver of Las Vegas; one brother, James R. Bucher of Las Vegas; one sister, Linda J. Bohman of Fernley; and one grandchild.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Gloria Camacho

Gloria Camacho, 69, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 6, 1931, in New York. A resident for 20 years, she was a nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel; five brothers, George and Michael of New York, and Joe, John and Danny of Massachusetts; and five sisters, Lucille, Madeline and Millie, all of New York, and Margaret and Irene, both of Massachusetts.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Jerry Carpenter

Jerry Carpenter, 63, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Hamlin, N.Y. A resident for two years, he was a mechanical engineer and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Wendy Carpenter of Garland, Texas, and Tamara Kopp of Monroe, N.Y.; one son, Todd Carpenter of Hanford, Calif.; one sister, Nancy Fitzsimmons of South Carolina; two brothers, Richard Carpenter of Henderson and Edwin Carpenter of Bradenton, Fla.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Charles DeRose

Charles DeRose, 50, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 30, 1949, in Jersey City, N.J. A resident for three years, he was a transportation conductor and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret A.; one daughter, Megan DeRose of Portland, N.J.; three sisters, Susan Highfill and Janice DeRose, both of New Jersey, and Louise Gutwein of Texas.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 4 p.m. memorial service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

The family suggests donations to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Gerald A. Dodge

Gerald A. Dodge, 56, of Las Vegas died Aug. 16 in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1943, in Wisconsin. A resident for six years, he owned a painting company.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; one daughter, Anna Marie Dodge, and two sons, Lenny Dodge and Dale Dodge, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Pearl Dodge of Walla Walla, Wash.; one sister, Shirley Jenkins of Boulder City; and two brothers, David Dodge of Walla Walla and Marvin Dodge of Sumner, Wash.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Clement A. Fischer

Clement A. Fischer, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 5, 1920, in Mount Carmel, N.D. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired Army auditor, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by three sons, Karl A. Fischer and Gerald M. Fischer, both of California, and Daniel C. Fischer of Colorado; one daughter, Phyllis A. Fischer of Michigan; one sister, Ann Schmickle of Minnesota; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Friday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Doris Elizabeth Goodrich

Doris Elizabeth Goodrich, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Pasadena, Calif. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Eileen Keesee and Sandra Goodrich, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Marion Day of Pomona, Calif.; one brother, Howard Kirch of Vista, Calif.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Eula Heights, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 6, 1939, in Louisiana. A resident for one year, she was a supervisor for a clothing business.

She is survived by one son, Darrin Heights of Lancaster, Calif.; one daughter, Tresalyn Duncan of Las Vegas; two brothers, Richard Brown of California and Perry Brown of Texas; one sister, Mary Cummings of Louisiana; and five grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in California. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Dorothy Mae Hudson

Dorothy Mae Hudson, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 18, 1926, in Illinois. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Jerry Hudson of Las Vegas and Jim Hudson and Dave Hudson, both of Sacramento; one daughter, Judy Anstess of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

James John Kain

James John Kain, 84, of Pahrump died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born Jan. 27, 1916, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 23 years, he was a steamfitter, a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 525 in Las Vegas, Steamfitters Local 464 in Omaha, Neb., the Moose and Lions clubs.

He is survived by his wife, Olive; two sons, James Kain and Patrick Kain, and one daughter, Barbara Jean Mills, all of Pahrump; two sisters, Margaret Benton of Spokane, Wash., Josephine McGuire of Lexington, Neb.; one brother, Jack Kain of Omaha, Neb.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Chief Tecopa Cemetery, Pahrump. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

James D. Kelly

James D. Kelly, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 14, 1918, in Sidney, Ohio. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired sorter for the government.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Colleen Newmyer of Bloomfields Hills, Mich., and Melanie Rouse of Lake Orion, Mich.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Margaret Laws

Margaret Laws, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Muskogee, Okla. A resident for 12 years, she was retired and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred; one daughter, Donna Laws of Las Vegas; three sons, Gerald Laws and Keith Laws, both of Las Vegas, and Alfred Laws Jr. of Los Angeles; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Frank Metz

Frank Metz, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Philadelphia. A resident for 26 years, he was a police officer, a security guard at the Plaza hotel-casino and an Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve; one daughter, Carolyn Wilson of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Sue R. Reed, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 31, 1928, in Floyd County, Va. A resident for five years, she was a retired clerk/typist.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Reed of Las Vegas and Debbie Reed of Santa Barbara, Calif.; one son, Chrisley Reed of Santa Barbara; two brothers, Chrisley Reed of Christianburg, Va., and Harvey Reed of West End, N.C.; and one grandchild.

Edward C. Rogers, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born March 9, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired advertising salesman and World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie N.; one daughter, Lynn Russo, one son, Bruce Russo, both of New York state; one sister, Lois Smith, and one brother, Kenneth McCarter, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Patricia Honora Sinnott

Patricia Honora Sinnott, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born March 13, 1928, in Ireland. A resident for six years, she was a distributor for restaurants.

She is survived by her husband, John; three sons, John Sinnott, Kerry Sinnott and Cahir Sinnott; one daughter, Siobhan Sinnott; two brothers, Raymond Nelly and John Nelly; two sisters, Pauline MacTigue and Eva Alton; and three grandchildren.

Jerry Treichel, 61, of Las Vegas died Aug. 3 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 28, 1939. A resident for many years, he was a laborer in the construction industry.

Fae R. Woods

Fae R. Woods, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born April 27, 1912, in Akron, Iowa. A resident for seven years, she was a grocery store clerk.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol Wells of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Alan Charles Zeller

Alan Charles Zeller, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 26, 1927, in Missouri. A resident for four years, he was an insurance salesman and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by two sons, John Zeller of Las Vegas and Scott Zeller of Colorado; one daughter, Catherine Trevigne of Arkansas; and four grandchildren.
