Shameron O. Abbo

Shameron O. Abbo, 41, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 6, 1959, in Kirquck, Iraq. A resident for 13 years, she was a hairstylist at a barber shop and a member of Nevada State Barbers Association.

She is survived by four sisters, Jenny Hanna, Roza Abbo and Mary Am Head, all of Henderson, and Elizabeth Oda of San Jose, Calif.; four brothers, Benjamin Abbo, Adam Abbo and William Youkhana, all of Oklahoma City, and Toma Abbo of Henderson; and her companion, John Trujillo of Las Vegas.

Services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Mary Ann Arnett

Mary Ann Arnett, 88, of Henderson died Aug. 9 in Las Vegas. She was born March 13, 1912, in Iowa. A resident for many years, she was a schoolteacher.

She is survived by one nephew, Thomas Jonas of Midland, Texas.

Private services were arranged by Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Bob Barber

Bob Barber, 73, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 4, 1927, in New York City. A resident for 12 years, he was an aerospace engineer and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; one daughter, Sharon Glassman of Las Vegas; one brother, Joel Barber of Houston; one sister, Elaine Barber of New Jersey; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services were scheduled at 12:30 p.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

Andre Neil Bell

Andre Neil Bell, 17, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 10, 1983, in Nevada. He was a student at Silverado High School.

He is survived by his parents, Nelson and Deborah; two brothers, Bobby and Kevin; and two sisters, Felicia and Wetona.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Rose A. Beutler

Rose A. Beutler, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born Feb. 28, 1927, in Phillips, Wis. A resident for four years, she was a self-employed beautician for 40 years and a member of the Emblem Club at Lady Elks.

She is survived by one son, Bradley Beutler of Las Vegas; one daughter, Pamela Beutler of Indianapolis; one brother, Charles Fillus of Phillips; two sisters, Paula Thornberry of Phillips and Marci Olsen of Westchester, Ill.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is arranging a private memorial service.

Paul Ervin Burgess

Paul Ervin Burgess, 46, of Las Vegas died July 12 in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 6, 1953.

Graveside services were scheduled at 9 a.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Cecelia E. Charles

Cecelia E. Charles, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born March 13, 1929, in Philadelphia. A resident for nine years, she was a retired nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Rudy Charles of New York.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Howard Bert Drennen

Howard Bert Drennen, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 20, 1912, in North Dakota. A resident for 20 years, he was a plumber in the construction industry and a member of Plumbers Local 671 in California.

He is survived by one sister, Lois White of Washington.

Ellen Mae Galbraith

Ellen Mae Galbraith, 75, of Boulder City died Sunday in Boulder City. She was born Sept. 28, 1924, in McKeesport, Pa. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired executive secretary for the Steelworkers Union.

She is survived by her husband, John V.; one son, Robert D. Connor of Indiana; and three daughters, Susan L. Halon and Kimberlie A. Connor, both of Washington state, and Jan L. Kline of Indiana.

Visitation is scheduled 3-5 p.m. Wednesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Barbara Ann Garmon

Barbara Ann Garmon, 51, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 29, 1949, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 13 years, she was a bank operator.

She is survived by her husband, Arlie; and one sister, Sally J. Raynolds of Los Angeles.

Molly Hochstadt

Molly Hochstadt, 80, died Saturday in Henderson. She was born July 22, 1920, in Boston.

She is survived by her husband, Edward; one daughter, Judith Hantin of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Graeme Keith Hosking

Graeme Keith Hosking, 64, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 2, 1935, in Melbourne, Australia. A resident for 14 years, he was an Air Force civil engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Sirirat "Toy"; one son, David Hosking of Vacaville, Calif.; one daughter, Cecilia Davidson, one stepdaughter, Parichart Hall, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Monica McNill of Victorville, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Nellis Air Force Base Chapel. Burial will be private. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Mayme Lee Hurley

Mayme Lee Hurley, 90, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 1, 1910, in Cynthiana, Ky. A resident for more than 35 years, she was a retired restaurateur.

She is survived by her husband, John Carragher of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Pia James

Pia James, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 8, 1921, in Pakistan. A resident for six years, she was a retired schoolteacher.

She is survived by four daughters, Reena Del Rossi of Dumfries, Va., Beena Joyner of Anchorage, Alaska, Marian Arnold of Athens, Ga., and Sarah James-Felton of Las Vegas; one son, Chris James of Anchorage; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mass will be celebrated 3 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Sara Mae Jamieson

Sara Mae Jamieson, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 19, 1920, in Michigan. A resident for eight years, she was an apartment manager.

She is survived by two sons, Terry and Rick; two daughters, Jody and Ginger; one brother, Clare Heron; four sisters, Beatrice, Barbara, Eva and Esther; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

John Edward Maguire

John Edward Maguire, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born March 10, 1923, in Pennsylvania. A resident for nine years, he owned Maguires Cocktail Lounge in San Gabriel, Calif., and was a member of the Elks for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, John Maguire and Chris Carnaghi, and one daughter, Julie Ann Fremont, all of California; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

John Miller

John Miller, 77, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born May 2, 1923, in Mitchell, Ontario. A resident for five years, he was a retired owner-operator of a garment firm and a member of the Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Margurite; one daughter, Shelley Miller of Venice, Calif.; one son, Ricky Miller of Reseda, Calif.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in the Lakes Lutheran Church, 8200 W. Sahara Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Herman Misajon

Herman Misajon, 69, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Waialua, Hawaii. A resident for seven years, he was a retired Army lieutenant colonel and Vietnam War veteran and past president of University of Hawaii Las Vegas Chapter Alumni.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; one son, Robert Misajon of Hilo, Hawaii; one daughter, Deborah Kelliher of Kailua, Hawaii; three sisters, Josephine Ocampo of Pearl City, Hawaii, Geraldine Bergman of San Francisco and Mia Hammett of Irvine, Calif.; one brother, Frederic Misajon of Sacramento; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Wednesday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Fleeta Elizabeth O'Leary

Fleeta Elizabeth O'Leary, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Broken Bow, Okla. A resident for 33 years, he was a retired hotel manager.

He is survived by one son, Willie Cearley of Hailey, Idaho; one daughter, Madeline Wagner of Orange, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Bill 'Doc' Rushworth

Bill "Doc" Rushworth, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 10, 1916, in Pittsburgh. A resident for two months, he was a retired veterinarian and a World War II Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one son, Stan Rushworth; one daughter, Janis Alldis; and two grandchildren.

Dorothy Stokely

Dorothy Stokely, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 15, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by her husband, George; one daughter, Nancy Sullivan of Las Vegas; two sons, Bruce Stokely of Fairfax, Va., and Eric Stokely of Boulder Creek, Calif.; one brother, Ray Ceranski of Buffalo; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Loretta Ruth Storck, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 28, 1927, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 12 years, she was a restaurant manager.

She is survived by her husband, George; her mother, Carolyn of Scranton, Pa.; two daughters, Barbara Golant of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Donna Waller of Dallas; five stepchildren, George, Dottie, Roberta, Michael and Jerry; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Sam Weiman

Sam Weiman, 71 of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 26, 1928 in Baltimore. A resident for seven years, he was a real estate salesman, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; three daughters, Susan Weiman of New York City, Cheryl Brice of Evansville, Ind., and Barbara Holland of Las Vegas; two sons, David Weiman of New York City and Stephen Weiman of Denver; one brother, Morton Weiman of Richmond, Va.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Hilda V. Weir

Hilda V. Weir, 73, of Topeka, Kan., died Saturday in Topeka. She was born May 17, 1927, in Indiana. A former resident for 25 years, she retired as a secretary from Nevada Power after 25 years, was a volunteer for 27 years in the juvenile court system, a member of Child Haven Rape Crisis, an adult literary tutor and a Sunday school teacher for high school students.

She is survived by one son, Stephen; one daughter, Judy Walden of Topeka; two brothers, Jerry Naugle of Greenwood, and John Naugle of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-3 p.m. Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Marie L. White, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 22, 1938, in Chicago. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired clerk.

She is survived by two daughters, Wendy Voight and Julie Jackson, and one son, Robert Singer, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Patricia Ninos of Bloomingdale, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
