Fremont Street Experience sues casino owner over noise

The Fremont Street Experience is suing to stop two downtown casinos owned by Herb Pastor from amplifying their sales pitches, which Fremont Street says is annoying its visitors and unfair to other businesses at the mall in downtown Las Vegas.
A Clark County District Court lawsuit alleges Pastor's Mermaids and La Bayou casinos repeatedly refused to comply with Fremont Street's policy of not amplifying their sales pitches.
Fremont Street said Pastor's loud pitches interfere with Fremont Street's sponsored entertainment as well as its audio system that plays music continuously within the mall.
The lawsuit said the policy against amplification was drawn up partly because Pastor allegedly told Fremont Street that he would stop using the sound projection systems if a uniform policy applicable to all properties along the mall was implemented.
Pastor could not be reached for comment on the allegations.
