Vintage bikes will be on display
Mid-America Auctions is sponsoring its first no-reserve motorcycle auction in Southern Nevada to benefit the Clark County Museum.
The auction will be held 5-9 p.m. Friday at the Tropicana hotel-casino. Admission for adults is $5 and free for children under 12.
A preview will be held 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday at the Tropicana. More than 150 vintage and classic motorcycles will be offered, including collectible and rideable BMWs, Harley-Davidsons, Hondas, Indians, Kawasakis, Matchless, Nortons, Triumphs, Vincents and others. UNLV open house to showcase program
UNLV's Center for Individual, Couple and Family Counseling will host an open house 2-4 p.m. Friday at the Paul McDermott Physical Education Center to explain the variety of services the center offers, such as marriage counseling, family therapy, psychology and school counseling.
The services are provided by graduate students under faculty supervision. No one is turned away because of an inability to pay. For more information, call Colleen Peterson at 895-3106.
Volunteers sought for Charleston project
A Mount Charleston Trash Bash will be taking place Saturday at Mount Charleston. Volunteers will clean up trash that some visitors have left behind.
The U.S. Forest Service will supply the garbage bags, but volunteers should bring their own gloves, water and sunscreen. For more information, call the Team 13 Hotline at 733-TEAM.
Lecture planned at Barrick Museum
David Bert, host of KNPR's "Along the Way," will lecture on "Little-Known Travel Treasures in the Las Vegas Area" 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at UNLV's Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History.
He will share some of the best-kept travel secrets within a short drive of Las Vegas, including China Ranch in the Amargosa Valley, Beaver Dam State Park and Great Basin National Park. Founder's Day
The Lake Mead National Recreation Area will waive entrance fees Friday to observe Founder's Day, the 84th anniversary of the day when Congress established the National Park Service in 1916.

Hospice volunteers
