Vegas home builder sues firms over gas lamps

A Las Vegas home builder is seeking restitution from Southwest Gas Corp., U.S. Gaslight Co. and L & R Sales, alleging it was sold defective gas lamps that also weren't properly installed and maintained at two of its Las Vegas residential developments.
In a Clark County District Court lawsuit, Developers of Nevada LLC, which has 11 sales and construction offices in Las Vegas, said the homeowners associations for Developers' Aviana and Solitude residential developments alleged the gas lamps there have continually failed to function properly and haven't been replaced despite repeated demands.
"We think this is a disagreement between the builder and the homeowners' association that goes back several years," said Roger Buehrer, Southwest Gas's spokesman. "The builder is just looking for someone to blame and we happen to be there. We installed the gas lamps and that is the extent of our involvement."
Southwest Gas also denied Developers of Nevada's claims that Southwest Gas had recommended buying gas lamps from U.S. Gaslight and L&R Sales.
