An Arizona company is acquiring the lease on 44 acres at Paradise Road and Tropicana Avenue and plans to build a time share resort there.
ILX Resorts Inc., Phoenix, which operates five time share resorts in Arizona and Colorado, another in San Carlos, Mexico, and two specialized resorts near college campuses in Arizona and Indiana, plans to develop 62 suites on property currently operated as the Las Vegas International Golf Center.
ILX Chairman Joe Martori said the 120-station golf driving range, which occupies about 20 acres, would be scaled back and reconfigured on the property.
Martori said the property lends itself to mixed uses, including time share units, a 100-room nongaming hotel, a restaurant and the driving range. From the initial build-out, Martori said the company eventually would add another 50 to 60 time share suites.
