Malone: Station sought ‘to destroy me’ in flier

CARSON CITY -- Clark County Commissioner Lance Malone says the complaint filed by the state Gaming Control Board against Station Casinos shows how far the gaming company went in an effort to ruin his political career.
Malone issued a statement today saying Station "decided to destroy me because I refused to dance to their tune. ... I will not be threatened. I will not be intimidated. And I will not be controlled."
The control board filed a complaint Monday against Station Casinos, accusing it of failing to properly supervise Vice President Mark Brown, who admitted he was behind an anonymous campaign flier questioning Malone's honesty.
The complaint seeks a fine up to $600,000 from Station Casinos. The gaming company has admitted it was wrong and apologized for its action.
