A Los Angeles-based Chinese language motion picture distributor is seeking an injunction to stop a Las Vegas movie rental shop and its owner from infringing on its exclusive license to distribute the episodes of two television series.
In a U.S. District Court lawsuit, BNE (USA) Inc. sued Everybody's Video and its owner Mariko Nagashima, alleging they made and sold unauthorized copies of two television series entitled "Hwa Mulan" and "The Pearl Princess, Part II," which are allegedly protected under the copyright laws of Taiwan and the United States.
The defendants could not be reached for comment.
