LV attorney asks that insurer indemnify him against malpractice claim
Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000 | 11:43 a.m.
A Las Vegas attorney is seeking an order to force an insurance company to defend claims made against him in a lawsuit.
In a Clark County District Court lawsuit, Ian Christopherson sued Zurich, Switzerland-based Zurich American Insurance Group and one of its Las Vegas agents, Patricia Wyatt of Wyatt Insurance Agency Inc., alleging he had spent more than 500 hours to date at $250 an hour defending a lawsuit because Zurich refused to indemnify him.
Christopherson was sued in 1997 by Lin Kalinauskas, who accused him of malpractice. Kalinauskas, who had hired Christopherson as her counsel in a sexual harassment lawsuit, alleged he caused her lawsuit to be dismissed because he failed to comply with the court's discovery orders.
The defendants could not be reached.
