Over the weekend Nevada Division of Wildlife creel clerks who were working at Government Wash checked numerous catfish, bluegill, largemouth bass and tilapia. Tilapia, an exotic fish native to Africa that has been illegally introduced into the lake, are being caught with frozen peas and small worms. They are similar in appearance to crappie and are good to eat.
Most stripers that are now being caught are under three pounds and are being found at the 33 Hole, Sand Island, Black Island, outside of Lake Mead Marina, Roadrunner Cove, Hemenway Harbor and Saddle Island.
