Lucille M. Burt
Lucille M. Burt, 84, of Boulder City died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 23, 1915, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 68 years, she was a retired editor of the Boulder City News, past president of the 31ers Club and a member of Pythian Sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Abercrombie of Henderson and Donna Friedmann of Santa Maria, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Wednesday in the 5th Street LDS Chapel, Boulder City. Graveside services will follow at noon Wednesday in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd.
The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
Sam J. Castriota
Sam J. Castriota, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 29, 1921, in Chicago. A resident for three years, he was a retired office manager in electronics, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Italian American Veterans of Franklin Park, Ill.
He is survied by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Janet Brandt of Wheeling, Ill.; one son, Harry Theodore of Addison, Ill.; one stepson, Andrew Taraska of Naperville, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Elrita Basak of Largo, Fla.; one sister, Lorraine Lodding of Elgin, Ill.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is private. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Livingston Urban Cooper
Livingston Urban Cooper, 59, of Las Vegas died Aug. 7 in Las Vegas. He was born June 30, 1941, in Nassau, Bahamas. A resident for 30 years, he was a casino porter.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa M.; five daughters, Joyce Ann White and Armanda Stanley, both of Atlanta, Johny May Sanders and Rose Merry Sanders, both of Jeffersonville, Ga., and Samatha Sanders of Las Vegas; three sons, Jimmy Lee Guyton of Lansing, Mich., Earl Duffie Sr. of Los Angeles and Jeffrey Sanders of Dublin, Ga.; his mother, Lilian Cooper, two brothers, Ouben Cooper and Hilton Cooper, and two sisters, Annie Lewis and Joyce Davis, all of Grand, Bahamas; 15 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Cheryl Lynn Daugherty
Cheryl Lynn Daugherty, 40, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. A construction worker, she was born March 20, 1960, in Ohio.
She is survived by her parents, Allen and Joyce Daugherty of Mount Gilead, Ohio; and two sisters, Debra Ruth of Mount Gilead and Tami Smith of Delaware, Ohio.

Alton Dale Geiser
Alton Dale Geiser, 73, of Henderson died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 3, 1927, in Pennsylvania. A resident for eight years, he was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn; three daughters, Dale Werner of Placentia, Calif., Margo Salatich of Antioch, Calif., and Toni Gavello of Irvine, Calif.; one son, Mark Geiser of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Emory Geiser of Silver Springs, Md., and Marlin Geiser of Windber, Pa.; two sisters, Ruby Cook of Denver and Janet Weaver of Troy, Pa.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Mary E. 'Betty' Glavy
Mary E. "Betty" Glavy, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. A resident for seven years, she was born Dec. 21, 1917.
She is survived by one sister, Muriel Miller of Fredonia, N.Y.; one niece, Clara Dolce of Dunkirk, N.Y.; and one nephew, John Miller of Buffalo, N.Y.
Burial will be private. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Gregory Eugene Gralik
Gregory Eugene Gralik, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 15, 1942, in Illinois. A resident for 14 months, he was a public affairs officer in the Army recruiting office and an Army veteran.
Services will be 7 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Anthony Thomas LaPonte
Anthony Thomas LaPonte, 75, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 29, 1925, in Illinois. A resident for 18 years, he was a truck driver and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by one son, Mark A. LaPonte of California; and one sister, Ann Dreksler of Illinois.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday with a 5:30 p.m. rosary in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Janie L. Lloyd
Janie L. Lloyd, 70, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born March 11, 1930, in Booneville, Miss. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, William H., one daughter, Linda Koch, and one brother, William McAnally, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Edith Larsen of Las Vegas, Patsy Helton of Glendora, Calif., and Mamie Apple of Dover, Ark.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Cemetery. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.
Robert W. 'Big Six' Phillips
Robert W. "Big Six" Phillips, 75, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. He was born Nov. 12, 1924, in Illinois. A resident for 35 years, he was self-employed in gaming and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Steve and Roger; three daughters, Susan, Bonnie and Trude; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Joseph Lloyd Pierce
Joseph Lloyd Pierce, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born June 24, 1930, in Alabama. A resident for three years, he was a machinist and an Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Joseph Pierce; and one daughter, Debra Marshall.

John Paul Replogle
John Paul Replogle, 93, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 6, 1906, in Alameda, Calif. A resident for 54 years, he was a retired civil engineer and architect for the original McCarran Airport and Dunes hotel-casino, a retired lieutenant colonel for the Civil Air Patrol for Clark County and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Nannette Perryman of Claremore, Okla., and Jo Marshall of Las Vegas; one sister, Enid Janeck of San Diego; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 7811 Vegas Drive. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Louise L. Reyes
Louise L. Reyes, 73, of Las Vegas died Aug. 20 in Las Vegas. She was born June 13, 1927, in New Mexico. A resident for most of her life, she was a porter at Caesars Palace.
She is survived by two sons, Catarino Rodriguez and Jimmie Rodriguez, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Delphino Lucero, and one sister, Telli Tapia, both of Henderson; and one grandson, Richard Rodriguez.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Harold A. Rowe
Harold A. Rowe, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 27, 1922, in Oakland, Calif. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired telephone engineer, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, a PER member of Las Vegas Elks Lodge 1468 and the Sun City Summerlin Golf Association.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one daughter, Bobby Rowe Besenfelder of Lafayette, Calif.; one son, Mark A. Rowe of Highland, Calif.; two sisters, Cecelia Archer and Elsie Bailey, both of Tracy, Calif.; two brothers, Elgin Rowe of San Leandro, Calif., and Bob Rowe of Alameda, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will be private. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Linda Ruth Schowalter
Linda Ruth Schowalter, 48, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 24, 1952, in Wichita, Kan. A resident for five years, she was a retired service manager.
She is survived by her mother, Lola Parsons of Wichita; her father, Richard Schowalter of Bella Vista, Ark.; one sister, Anita Kern of Palatine, Ill.; and one brother, Dick Schowalter of Rogers, Ark.

Ella C. Sharp
Ella C. Sharp, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 16, 1912, in Malad, Idaho. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Douglas D. Sharp of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Idaho. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Florida Smith
Florida Smith, 69, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 15, 1931, in Baton Rouge, La. A resident for two years, she was a retired production worker for a brewery.
She is survived by her husband, George; two daughters, Valerie Dunn of Las Vegas and Norine Haggins of Fontana, Calif.; one son, Darrell Smith of Roswell, Ga.; three sisters, Eloise Brame and Luvella James, both of Milwaukee, and Carol Ann Cox of St. Paul, Minn.; one brother, Daniel Smith of Milwaukee; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
John Thorton
John Thorton, 83, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1916, in Jackson, Mich. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired Clark County School District employee, a retired Army and Air Force veteran, a member of Air Force Sergeants Association, Sunland and Desert Sun Good Sam Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1753.
He is survived by his wife, Lois M.; five sons, Wesley Thorton, Richard Thorton, James Thorton, John Thomas Thorton and Larry Thorton; and two daughters, Margaret and Jackie Marlene; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Michael D. Wells, 26, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1973, in Granada Hills, Calif. A resident for one year, he was a hotel public relations representative.
He is survived by his mother, Chris Wells of Moorpark, Calif.; his father, John Wells Sr., and one brother, Matthew Wells, both of Las Vegas; and his two grandmothers, Sharis Cross of Burbank, Calif., and Enes Wells of Beatty.

Billy Ray Wilson Sr.
Billy Ray Wilson Sr., 58, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 9, 1942, in Borger, Texas. A resident for eight years, he was a flight maintenance supervisor for an air cargo expeditor.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon A.; one daughter, Tina Montes, and one son, Billy R. Wilson Jr., both of Las Vegas; his stepfather, Howard Davis of Douglass, Kan.; two half-brothers, Curt Davis of Wichita, Kan., and Stacy Davis of Douglass; one aunt, Helen McCarthy of Borger; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1-6 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Richard A. Young, 63, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 21, 1936, in Ohio. A resident for six years, he was a Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his companion, Margaret Cools; one daughter, Debra Zur; one sister, Marilyne Young; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
