The Bellagio hotel-casino sued Presley Homes of Las Vegas, alleging it reneged on an agreement to pay $39,000 for the Bellagio's convention services even if it cancelled its convention.
Presley Homes allegedly orally cancelled on Dec. 12, 1999, a convention for its annual sales awards program that was supposed to be held Jan. 12-14, a Clark County District Court lawsuit said.
The Bellagio said Presley Homes allegedly agreed to pay "liquidated damages, which are calculated based on the rooms that would be rented and food and beverages sold during the convention," even if it cancelled the contract.
Presley Homes officials could not be reached for comment.
