Shirley M. Bean
Shirley M. Bean, 74, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Williston, N.D. A resident for 48 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie E.; two sons, Steven E. Bean and John R. Bean, and two daughters, Susan A. Secrest and Terrell Lynn Clickner, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Jean of Kalama, Wash., and Beverly of Seaview, Wash.; six brothers, Floyd and Donald, both of Williston, N.D., Larry of Manhattan, Mont., Harry of Mesa, Ariz., Bud of Winlock, Wash., and Gary of Kalama; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today and one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.
The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119, or the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 5190 S. Valley View Blvd., Suite 101, Las Vegas, NV 89118.
Helen Rita Beers
Helen Rita Beers, 82, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born May 7, 1918, in Massachusetts. A resident for 33 years, she was a sales manager at Wonderworld.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel Beers and Herbert J. Beers Jr.; one daughter, Diane Vyne; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Robert Walters Brown
Robert Walters Brown, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Iowa. A resident for 30 years, he was a waiter, an Army veteran and a member of the Culinary Union.
He is survived by one nephew, Gary Charles Brown.
Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Velma L. Daniels
Velma L. Daniels, 52, of Las Vegas died Aug. 11 in a local hospital. A resident for four years, she was born Dec. 3, 1947, in Louisiana.
She is survived by three sons, Rodrick Daniels of San Diego and Erick Daniels and Demetrius Daniels, both of Long Beach, Calif.; her mother, Nancy Daniels of Louisiana; six brothers, Damies Daniels, Jessie Daniels and Walter Daniels, all of Las Vegas, Ray Daniels of Monroe, La., Robert Daniels of Lake Providence, La., and Willie Daniels of Vicksburg, Miss.; one sister, Katherine Anderson of Long Beach, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will be private.
Mary Jean Eller
Mary Jean Eller, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born March 2, 1927, in Upper Darby, Pa. A resident for three years, she was a retired director of accounting for the San Gabriel (Calif.) School District and a graduate of Penn State University.
She is survived by her husband, Gary.
Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling private arrangements.
Shirley Franklin
Shirley Franklin, 72, of Pahrump died Wednesday in Pahrump. She was born June 8, 1928, in Brighton, Colo. A resident for 1 1/2 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her significant other, Bill Hall of Pahrump; two daughters, Penny Franklin and Susan Kaikas; one son, Charles Franklin; one sister, LaVonne Cotton; and two granddaughters.
Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd., Pahrump, is handling arrangements.
Robert Gorny
Robert Gorny, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 13, 1925, in Kansas. A resident for many years, he was an automobile assembly worker.
He is survived by one daughter, Shiela Lavala of Las Vegas.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Michigan. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Evelyn A. Harris
Evelyn A. Harris, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Palouse, Wash. A resident for 40 years, she retired as a waitress in the Palm Room at the Stardust hotel-casino after 30 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Genevieve Lee and Deborah Blosser, both of Las Vegas, and Margaret Bridge of Decatur, Ill.; three sons, H. Lee Barnes and George Harris, both of Las Vegas, and Malcolm Harris of Raton, N.M.; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Geneva Huddleston
Geneva Huddleston, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Jackson, Mo. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired newspaper secretary.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; one son, George A. Finch III of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two daughters, Anita New of Vacaville, Calif., and Kathy Long of Santa Rosa; three sisters, Maxine Owens of Santa Rosa, Jolene Schmidt of San Jose, Calif., and Jeannine Crader of Denton, Texas; one brother, Boyce Crader of Sacramento; and five grandchildren.

Theodore Jowanna
Theodore Jowanna, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. An Army veteran, he was born April 6, 1933, in Dallas, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; two daughters, Barbara Jowanna and Shirley Gregory, both of Maryland; four sons, Theodore Sutor of Maryland, Timothy A. Jowanna and Theodore David Jowanna, both of Las Vegas, and James Scott Jowanna of Idaho; two sisters, Margaret Balut of New Jersey and Sadie Jowanna of New York state; four brothers, Alexander Jowanna and John Jowanna, both of Florida, Stanley Jowanna of Maryland and Steven Jowanna of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Russell L. Lowe
Russell L. Lowe, 54, of Las Vegas died recently in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 15, 1946, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a truck driver for Texaco and an Army veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Scott Buchanan and Joshua Lowe, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Kristina Lowe of Las Vegas and Amber Tegantvoort of Minnesota; and three grandchildren.
Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.
Phyllis Ann Marcinelli
Phyllis Ann Marcinelli, 61, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 18, 1938, in Michigan. A resident for 31 years, she worked in the real estate industry.
She is survived by one son, Phillip Todd Marcinelli; one daughter, Lisa Marie Marcinelli Hegwood; three brothers, James Edward Lada, Thomas Gerard Lada and Robert Joseph Lada; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Lorraine Adelaide McArthur
Lorraine Adelaide McArthur, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 4, 1923, in Warroad, Minn. A resident for 16 years, she was a nurse.
She is survived by her husband, David; four sons, Douglas McArthur of Houston, David W. McArthur of Bloomington, Minn., Lauren McArthur of Lakeville, Minn., and Daryl McArthur of Denton, Texas; one daughter, Roxanne McArthur of Bozeman, Mont.; two brothers, James Menke of Roseburg, Ore., and Dave Menke of Rockford, Ill.; three sisters, Lucille Ninnemann of Westchester, Pa., Loretta Block of Lowell, Ark., and Mary Charlton of Faribault, Minn.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin with a 5 p.m. prayer service and continue until 7 p.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Harley Peters
Harley Peters, 72, of Las Vegas died Aug. 1 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 29, 1927, in Kansas. A resident for many years, he was a fiberglass salesman and a veteran.
He is survived by three daughters, Mary Murtz, Edna Peters and Ruth Kohsetd, all of California.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Lewis Sershon
Lewis Sershon, 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 9, 1925, in Kenosha, Wis. A resident for seven years, he was a carpenter.
He is survived by four daughters, Marie Vaught of Las Vegas, Sherry Churchwell of Tucson, Ariz., Donna Roy of Corona, Calif., and Susan Lissy of Big Bear, Calif.; one son, Gary Sershon of Oceanside, Calif.; two brothers, Robert Sershon of Chicago and Richard Sershon of Florida; one sister, Joanne Diederich of Ontario, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.
Carolyn Sharp
Carolyn Sharp, 87, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born July 3, 1913, in Illinois. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired registered nurse and World War II Air Force veteran.
She is survived by one sister, Julia Trowbridge of Chino Hills, Calif.; and one brother, Ernest Zakrajsek of Grand Ledge, Mich.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Roberta Elizabeth Marcy Spratlen
Roberta Elizabeth Marcy Spratlen, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local convalescent center. She was born April 6, 1914, in Portland, Ore. A resident for eight years, she was a retired newspaper office manager and a member of PEO.
She is survived by one daughter, Marcia Knapp of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Services will be in California. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.
Bonnie Sue
Bonnie Sue, 31, of Las Vegas died July 31 in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 7, 1929, in Fairfax, Ga. A resident for 31 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Pat Sue of Las Vegas.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Griffith United Methodist Church, 1701 E. Oakey Blvd. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.
Hector Amos Watters
Hector Amos Watters, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Mexico. A resident for five years, he was a head well puller in the oil industry.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Marie Watters; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 5 p.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
