First National Bank of Nevada, a small community bank based in Laughlin, has opened the first of five branches in Las Vegas-area Wal-Mart supercenters.
Dave Groshong, market president for the bank in Southern Nevada, said the 795-square-foot branch opened Wednesday during the grand opening of the Wal-Mart store at 4350 N. Nellis Blvd.
Three more branches are planned at Las Vegas stores and one in Henderson. The bank already has a relationship with Wal-Mart in Bullhead City, Ariz., as First Bank of Arizona. Groshong said the Bullhead City branch has grown twice as fast as its traditional branches because of the Wal-Mart location.
The Wal-Mart branch offers deposit and loan services to consumers and businesses and investments through a partnership with Tampa, Fla.-based Raymond James Financial Services.
First National also has a branch serving commercial customers at an 8,000-square-foot office at McCarran Center, 770 E. Warm Springs Road.
Groshong said the Wal-Mart branch is Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
