Letter: Reader: Ruiz was robbed
Friday, Aug. 18, 2000 | 2:45 a.m.
Regarding the Evander Holyfield-John Ruiz heavyweight title fight: It is obvious that Don King, as with everything else the man touches, has tainted the Nevada State Athletic Commission as well. (Saturday) we watched a man (Ruiz) win over 12 rounds of boxing only to be robbed by judges. If you can let the decision stay without an investigation, then you people have no ethics or credibility in my eyes.
I will no longer watch or pay for fights on Showtime or that have anything to do with Don King or the Nevada State Athletic Commission -- which obviously are one and the same.
