Barbara Greenspun remembers 1956: Youth Forum continues success

Because Hank believed it was important to listen to what our children are saying, the first Sun Youth Forum became a reality in 1956. Who would have dreamed it would become Nevada's outstanding forum for young students, lasting 44 years?
It was the intention of the Sun to give young people an opportunity to air their views on subjects vital to them. The Sun Youth Forum answered that need. Many youthful delegates have later become leaders in business, government, education and the arts.
The Sun Youth Forum has succeeded far beyond the expectations of its founder, and now hosts a thousand Clark County high school students at the annual event.
