CHICAGO -- WMS Industries Inc. said today it entered into a licensing agreement with Hasbro Inc. allowing WMS to make slot machines themed on the famous board game SCRABBLE.
Created by Alfred Mosher Butts in the 1930s, the SCRABBLE board game combines the vocabulary skills of crossword puzzles and anagrams with an element of chance. Hasbro has sold more than 100 million SCRABBLE games worldwide.
WMS already makes popular Monopoly slots and previously announced a deal to make slots based on the JUMBLE puzzle word game.
