Respiration still a problem in Las Vegas
Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000 | 2:45 a.m.
Poor air quality in the Las Vegas Valley has again prompted the Clark County Health District to warn people with breathing problems to curtail their activities, particularly those outdoors.
The air contained unhealthful levels of particulate matter Saturday at seven different locations throughout the city.
Winds gusting to 20 mph on Sunday were expected to clear out some of the pollutants.
People with asthma or other breathing problems were advised to not overexert themselves during such conditions.
Officials said the poor air was partially attributable to smoke from wildland fires burning throughout Nevada.
