Fraraccio an unlikely hero for Stars

OMAHA, Neb. -- When it comes to storybook endings, they don't get any more storybook than this.
Designated hitter Dan Fraraccio, an emergency roster replacement summoned from the independent Quebec City Capitals, hit a two-out, two-strike, two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to help rally the Las Vegas Stars to a 4-2 victory over the Omaha Golden Spikes at Rosenblatt Stadium.
The Stars were trailing 2-1 at the time of Fraraccio's heroics. The home run to left off Omaha reliever Miguel Batista (1-2), which came one out after a Gabe Alvarez single, was only the 21st in nine minor league seasons for Fraraccio and only his second at the triple-A level.
On the following pitch, center fielder Ethan Faggett hit his second homer in two days to extend the Stars' surprising lead to 4-2.
John Roskos also homered for the Stars, who open a four-game series at Des Moines tonight against the Chicago Cubs' triple-A affiliate.
