Southwest Airlines will add two new nonstop daily round-trip flights from McCarran International Airport in December, including one to a city that will be served directly from Las Vegas for the first time.
Dallas-based Southwest, which carries the most passenger traffic to and from Las Vegas, will add a nonstop flight to Birmingham, Ala., and a ninth daily departure to and from Oakland, Calif., Dec. 10.
Including Southwest's start-up of nonstop service to Buffalo, N.Y., and Louisville, Ky., in the fall, the addition of Birmingham will make 83 airports served directly from McCarran.
Southwest will have about 165 daily flights from Las Vegas with the planned new service.
