Savvy wine buy: Navarro Correas ‘95 Cabernet Sauvignon
Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000 | 9:16 a.m.
Argentina is one of the world's great emerging wine countries. It's already got the soil, the grapes and highly competitive pricing. All it needs to really soar is an international following. This delicious wine is reminiscent of comparably priced Chilean reds. It's 80 percent Cabernet, 20 percent Merlot and has a pleasantly light nose as well as mildly harsh tannins that mellow quickly in the glass. But the blend of the two grapes gives it the flavor of a classic Bordeaux, at one-quarter the price.
Available at Spirits Plus, $10.49, and Nevada Wine Cellar, $12.99.
