Clara Baccadutre

Clara Baccadutre, 80, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 27, 1920, in Oberhausen, Germany. A resident for 12 years, she was a treatment nurse.

She is survived by one son, Gale Wigginton, and one daughter, Helga Wigginton, both of Carson, Calif.; three grandsons and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Paula J. Bell

Paula J. Bell, 75, of Bigfork, Mont., died Sunday in Bigfork. She was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Shelby, Mont. A former Nevada resident, she owned Whittlesea-Bell Inc.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace in 1986.

She is survived by eight children, Nadyne Ritter of Great Falls, Mont., Larry Bell, Jerry Bell and Tim Bell, all of Sparks, Gary Bell, Jim Bell and Terry Bell, all of Las Vegas, and Sharlene Dugas of Yakima, Wash.; 24 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Bigfork Funeral Home, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, Ferndale, Mont., St. Jude's Ranch for Children Inc., 100 St. Jude, Boulder City, NV 89005, or C.M. Russel Museum, Great Falls, Mont.

Toshi Cunningham

Toshi Cunningham, 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 10, 1927, in Tokyo. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Glen P.; one daughter, Coleen A. Wise, and one son, Paul D. Cunningham, both of Las Vegas; one sister of Tokyo; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Fellowship Christian Church, 6210 W. Cheyenne Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Lolita Lucille Erskine

Lolita Lucille Erskine, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 13, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for seven years, she was a cosmetologist.

She is survived by one daughter, Rea Duncan of Pahrump; two sons, Steve Erskine of Las Vegas and Corky Erskine of Newark, Calif.; one brother, Frank C. Storey of San Diego; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd.

Vascola Hardison

Vascola Hardison, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 30, 1912, in Macon, Ga. A resident for 65 years, she was a housekeeper at the Sahara hotel-casino.

She is survived by six sons, Hythenial Hardison, Otto Hardison, Willie R. Hardison, Franklin Hardison, Leon Hardison and Michael Hardison, and one daughter, Vascola Scott, all of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 1-5 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

John Francis Healey

John Francis Healey, 44, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 27, 1955, in Massachusetts. A resident for two years, he was a registered nurse.

He is survived by his father, John F. Healey of Massachusetts.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Francisca Jovel

Francisca Jovel, 52, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 26, 1947, in Guatemala City. A resident for two years, she was a hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by her husband, Mario Abadia Sr., and one daughter, Anajessy Abadia, both of Guatemala; one son, Mario Abadia Jr. of California; her mother, Felixita Rodriquez, and two brothers, David Abadia and German Abadia, all of Guatemala; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. service in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be in Guatemala.

Leandro Masella

Leandro Masella, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1915, in Valmontone, Italy. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired tailor.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; one daughter, Rita Lord of Arcadia, Calif.; two sons, Loreto Masella of Las Vegas and Claudio Masella of Laguna Beach, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday with services following at 2 p.m. in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Billie Miller

Billie Miller, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born July 30, 1925, in Sackerville, Okla. A resident for 45 years, she was a retired hotel cashier.

She is survived by one son, Gary Miller of Las Vegas; one sister, Helen Harris of Seattle; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Herman Peterson

Herman Peterson, 60, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 26, 1939, in Hearne, Texas. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Henrietta; one daughter, Belinda Peterson, and six sons, Gale Peterson, Kenneth Peterson, Herman Peterson, Ronald Peterson, Richard Stone and Randy Stone, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Doris Bullock and Robbiemae Muckelroy, both of Hearne; and 20 grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled until 4 p.m. today in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1100 N. D St.

Larry Eugene Shappard

Larry Eugene Shappard, 55, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 5, 1944, in Marion, Ohio. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; four sons, William Christian and Richard Shappard, both of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, and Robert Christian and Michael Shappard, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Debbie Gilles of Las Vegas; and nine grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Zaneda A. Shaw

Zaneda A. Shaw, 47, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born June 16, 1953, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a cement mason.

She is survived by her companion, Sam Owen, and one son, Darrell Southern, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Donna Southern of North Las Vegas and Angela Southern of Las Vegas; four sisters, Mildred J. Cowart, Audrey C. Southern, Michelle R. LaVoll and Felicia J. Gaines, two brothers, Curtis L. Crockett and Ricky Southern, and two stepbrothers, Billy Hamilton and Bobby Hamilton, all of Las Vegas; one stepsister, Bennie L. Thomas of Reno; and 14 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Samuel E. Smith

Samuel E. Smith, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Maryland. A resident for 33 years, he was a retired electrician, a Korean War Navy veteran and a member of the Electricians Union.

He is survived by one stepdaughter, Iris Wolff of Baltimore; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
