Lloyd enters guilty pleas in kidnaping and murder
Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000 | 12:52 p.m.
Jonathan Charles Lloyd, 28, entered the pleas on Tuesday in the death of Jennette Testa of Reno, whose body was found burning in a Double Diamond business park in July of last year.
Lloyd faces life in prison on both charges at his sentencing Sept. 22.
The state alleges the former Kinko's Copies worker strangled Testa and later set her body on fire to get rid of the evidence. An autopsy showed that Testa died of strangulation.
Before Lloyd changed his innocent plea, Testa's family members and friends quietly and somberly entered Judge Janet Berry's courtroom. Testa's mother cried and carried a picture of her daughter.
Lloyd's mother, also present, went up to Testa's mother and said, "I'm sorry." She hugged her and both women cried momentarily in each others arms.
