Donald Trump’s mother dies

NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Mary MacLeod Trump, the mother of real estate developer and casino operator Donald Trump, has died. She was 88.
Mrs. Trump died Monday. She was a philanthropist who supported charities near her home in Queens and elsewhere. She was the widow of Fred Trump, who amassed his fortune building outer-borough apartments.
In addition to Donald, Mrs. Trump is survived by three other children, Robert, president of his father's property management company; Maryanne, a Third Circuit Court of Appeals judge; and Elizabeth, a Chase Manhattan Bank executive.
A fifth child, Fred Trump Jr., died in 1981 at age 42.
