OMAHA, Neb. -- Will Cunnane allowed just two hits over eight innings en route to his first victory since June 18 as the Stars defeated the Omaha Golden Spikes, 4-1, on Tuesday night at Rosenblatt Stadium.
Cunnane (6-3) was near-perfect on the mound, allowing only a second-inning double to Kit Pellow which bounced out of the glove of rightfielder Ryan Radmanovich and a seventh-inning infield single to Pellow.
Cunnane retired 17 batters in a row during one stretch. He struck out six and didn't walk a batter.
Jayson Durocher worked a 1-2-3 ninth to earn his ninth save.
Omaha's only run came in the second when ex-Star Aaron Guiel drove in Pellow from third with a groundout.
Third baseman Alex Pelaez had two hits and an RBI to lead Las Vegas (60-56) offensively.
