NEW YORK -- Citigroup Inc. said it will join fellow bank Wells Fargo & Co., energy company Enron Corp. and two technology companies to provide an online payment system for Web-based business-to-business marketplaces.
The venture, FinancialSettlementMatrix.com Inc., will operate as a separate company with its own management and is expected to start delivering service next year.
The new concern's location has yet to be determined. Citigroup and Wells Fargo are big bank operators in Nevada.
Enron, headquartered in Houston, will provide broadband delivery for the service.
