55 Alive driving workshop scheduled
A 55 Alive driving workshop will be offered 5:30-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway, Henderson.
Participation is open to drivers ages 50 or more. The cost is $10 per person, payable to the American Association of Retired Persons at class time.
The two-part workshop is designed to help senior drivers recognize their physical limitations and learn how to best compensate for them. For more information, call 435-3814.
Feng shui
St. Andrews Renaissance Guild, a nonprofit group, is co-sponsoring feng shui master Patti Robbins-Vignal 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Andrews Renaissance Guild Hall, 5485 E. Children's event
Gymcats of Henderson and Las Vegas will be holding an open house and charitable event for children noon-5 p.m. Saturday at 440 S. Parkson Road, Suite B, Henderson, and at 1924 Rock Springs Drive, Las Vegas. Both events will benefit Child Haven. For more information, call 566-1414 or 798-FLIP.
Class reunion
Carson High School's class of 1975 will be holding its 25-year reunion at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Empire Ranch Golf Course in Carson City. Cost is $5 in advance or $10 at the door for the one-night event, which will feature a live band. A mailing list and e-mail list are currently being built. Immunizations
Health district immunization clinics are open each week in and around Las Vegas. Immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 21 in any of four public health centers and 15 satellite clinics. The following clinics will be open this week, August 9 through August 15:
DISTRICT HEALTH CENTER: 625 Shadow Lane, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
HENDERSON PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 129 W. Lake Mead Drive, Building A, Suite 10, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
EAST LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
NORTH LAS VEGAS FAMILY HEALTH CENTER: 2225 Civic Center Drive, Suite 240C, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
TONOPAH WIC CLINIC: 5A Tonopah, North Las Vegas, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Wednesday.
ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH: 130 N. Pecos Road, 9 a.m.-noon, Sunday.
DESERT BREEZE CLINIC: 8275 Spring Mountain Road, noon-4 p.m. Friday.
BOULEVARD MALL: 3528 S. Maryland Parkway, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday.
BABIES 'R' US: 510 Stephanie St., Henderson, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
FREMONT MEDICAL CLINIC: 4880 S. Wynn Road, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Immunizations free to anyone who walks in.
