Jack S. Adamson
Jack S. Adamson, 77, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. He was born April 22, 1923, in Park City, Utah. A resident for 44 years, he was a science teacher for 30 years at J.D. Smith Middle School and also taught physical education and coached. He was an Army veteran, an LDS high priest and active in the Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his wife, LaRue; three sons, Steven Adamson of Panaca and Sterling Adamson and Stuart Adamson, both of Las Vegas; three daughters, Sharlene Lewis, Evonne Young and Jill Tillmon, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Jean Adamson of California and Robert Adamson of Lakewood, Colo.; two sisters, Ella Gregersen and Margaret Jones, both of Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Civic Center and Tonopah LDS chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Irma Biggar
Irma Biggar, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 11, 1914, in Whitcomb, Wash. A resident for 41 years, she was a retired restaurant manager at the original MGM Grand for more than 20 years, a member of Daughters of the Nile and Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Thomas Biggar of Las Vegas and Samuel Biggar of Anchorage, Alaska; one sister, Bernice Berger of Las Vegas; two brothers, William McKinney and Frank McKinney, both of Walla Walla, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Laura K. Garvin
Laura K. Garvin, 87, of Las Vegas died July 31 in Las Vegas. She was born May 10, 1913, in Goldfield. A resident for 55 years, she was a retired nurse, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, PEO Sisterhood and Mesquite Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen G. Bruner of Las Vegas and Sally G. Blackwell of San Ramon, Calif.; two sons, Neil Garvin and Noel Garvin, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Griffith Methodist Church, 1701 E. Oakey Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 5190 S. Valley View Blvd., Suite 101, Las Vegas, NV 89118; American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119; Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119, or the donor's favorite charity.
Stan Goodman
Stan Goodman, 73, of Las Vegas died July 29 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, he was a salesman and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne; one daughter, Ryvkah Goodman-Rodriguez of Chicago; one son, Allan Goodman of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; one brother, M. Leonard Goodman of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was scheduled at 9 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., followed by a private burial.
The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
Laila Khoudouri
Laila Khoudouri, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 23, 1937, in Cairo, Egypt. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired seamstress.
She is survived by her husband, George; two sons, Moetaz Khoudouri and Magdi Khoudouri, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Houda Michel of Ivory Coast; and three brothers, Gamal Costandi of Las Vegas, Nabil Costandi of Baldwin Park, Calif., and Rafat Costandi of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Visitation is scheduled 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., followed by services at 1 p.m. Graveside services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Alexis Ortiz
Alexis Ortiz, died July 31, his date of birth in a local hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Dagoberto and Teresa DeJesus Ortiz, one brother, Diego Ortiz, and one sister, Kimberly Ortiz, all of Las Vegas.
Graveside services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
Helen B. Roberts
Helen B. Roberts, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Tennessee. A resident for 28 years, she was a change attendant at Rainbow Las Vegas.
She is survived by one son, Terry Roberts, one sister, Gene Wallace and two brothers, Henry Morgan and J.L. Morgan, all of Las Vegas; and one grandson.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Harry N. Rodites
Harry N. Rodites, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 4, 1921, in Akron, Ohio. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired state records clerk and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred; three daughters, Anna Tadrzak of Northfield Center, Ohio, Christina Rodites of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Donna Alspach of Anchorage, Alaska; one son, Nicholas Harry Rodites of Hudson, Ohio; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Harold Mark Williams
Harold Mark Williams, 57, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1942, in Carmi, Ill. A resident for 38 years, he was a craps dealer.
He is survived by one brother, William Williams of Mesquite.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
